Pastors and community leaders are moving toward a Palau Partnership and CityFest in 2018
Over the past year pastors and community leaders here in West Michigan have been praying and dreaming about a unified effort to serve the community and share the Good News in the region. In speaking with many key Christians in our area, we’ve sensed a shared vision for a Gospel-proclaiming event to share the life-giving message of Jesus in a public and winsome way.
After much prayer, discussion, and God’s clear direction on timing, we are happy to share that, following an encouraging meeting on May 11, 2017 with more than 350 pastors and Christian business leaders in attendance, the Luis Palau Association has accepted our invitation to hold an evangelistic festival with Luis and Andrew Palau in the late summer/early fall of 2018.
The festival – which we are calling CityFest – will come at the culmination of a focused period of service endeavors in our city called CityServe. It will also include a series of smaller outreach events designed to reach key groups in our community. We are excited for this opportunity to unite as believers to share the name of Jesus Christ – through both word and deed – with our friends, family, and neighbors.
More than 150 churches and organizations have already united in this effort and $500,000 of the initial budget has already been pledged or committed. We are at the very early foundational stages of this campaign and we want you and your church to be in on the front. The executive leadership team is also forming and it will be made up of leaders from churches just like yours. So, now is the time to get involved and help shape the direction of this campaign.
We would love for you to be part of CityFest & CityServe! If you are not officially participating already, we invite you to partner with the many other churches in this Gospel effort, to encourage those who follow Christ in evangelism and reach our community in a concerted effort. Besides upcoming opportunities for serving, evangelism training, equipping and outreach, there are special ways that you can be part of this unique moment for the Church to have ongoing impact in West Michigan. If your church is not already on board, sign up HERE.
As we move into the festival planning stages, a Palau Association team member who is helping lead the CityFest & CityServe effort would like to meet with you and your staff to share how your church can join what God is doing to make Jesus known and be equipped for partnership in service and evangelism. Or, if you want to connect right away, you can contact Duffy Johnson at (214) 755-6992 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to hearing from you and working together to see lives changed through the Gospel of Jesus—for the glory of God and the good of West Michigan.
